Rosemary Ashe


Rosie grew up in Lowestoft, Suffolk. She trained at The Royal Academy of Music and The London Opera Centre.

She has had an extensive career which includes the following theatre credits: For Cameron Mackintosh, Hortense in The Boyfriend, Carlotta in the original cast of The Phantom of the Opera, Madame Thenardier in Les Miserables, Widow Corney in Oliver!, Miss Andrew in Mary Poppins and Felicia Gabriel in The Witches of Eastwick (for which she was nominated for an Olivier Award for best supporting performance) all in the West End. More recently she has played Mrs Lovett in Sweeney Todd (Gothenburg Opera), Lottie Grady in When We Are Married (The Garrick), Grandma Mole in Adrian Mole (Leicester Curve), Sister Mary Lazarus in Sister Act (national tour), Kate Hoey MP in Committee (Donmar), 8 roles in Tonight at 8.30 (Jermyn Street Theatre) and The Old Lady in Candide (Grange Festival).

TV credits include Ellie McCabe in The House of Elliot, Lucy Lockitt in The Beggar's Opera and most recently Esmeralda Bronwyn Jones in Doctors. Radio includes Friday Night is Music Night and In Tune.
